Why Does My DJI Mavic Keep Losing Focus While Recording?
If your DJI Mavic keeps drifting out of focus while recording, test the focus behavior during capture before changing the finished video. The key question is whether the live view loses focus and the saved clip records that same softness.
A user in this Mavic focus problem from Reddit reported that tapping the iPad screen to refocus repeatedly did not hold focus, and gimbal calibration rarely solved the issue. The same user also saw hazy, overexposed-looking footage.
Test Focus With a Simple Static Scene
Use a well-lit subject with clear edges, tap the intended focus point, and record a short stationary clip. DJI's Mavic Pro documentation says autofocus can be triggered by tapping the camera view, and it also notes that moving manual focus straight to infinity does not automatically guarantee sharp focus.
If the live view becomes soft before the file is saved, the next action is on the camera side: repeat the test after resetting camera settings, remove any accessory that may affect the lens, and compare another short clip. If the same focus drift continues across new recordings, processing the old file will not stop the camera from repeating the problem.
If an Important Recorded Clip Is Already Soft
If the video opens and plays normally but the recorded image is mildly blurred or lacks detail, you can work on the finished clip. Wondershare Repairit AI Video Enhancer is designed to improve clarity and detail in playable blurry footage.
Use enhancement when useful image information is still present. A severely missed focus point can leave detail that was never captured, so compare the enhanced result against faces, text, or fine edges rather than judging only by overall sharpness.
